Divorces and Family Law

Relationships are tough. Ending those relationships can be even tougher. From divorce to custody matters to guardianships, our team of attorneys stands ready to guide you through the complex legal issues in your family law case.

Whether you are seeking an uncontested divorce or a complex-matrimonial dissolution, the stakes are high and the decisions you make will have a major impact on your future. At Bowman & Lewis, we offer a free case evaluation.  We encourage you to speak frankly with several attorneys and find some one that you can communicate with.  It is critical your attorney listens to your needs and is able to walk you through the process with words you understand.

We are there for you during this difficult time to guide you through the legal hurdles you face.  A divorce is never easy, but with the proper counsel, you can make it through.  Family Law cases are some of the most emotionally draining cases our clients can go through.  You need an experienced attorney who will fight for you and give you peace of mind while your case is ongoing.  Our team of attorneys and experts strives to be affordable and responsible.  We will continue to successfully gear up for major battles over custody and assets and are available to be on your team.

We offer payment plans and fixed fee arrangements.  For more information, just give us a call or schedule an appointment.

How much will my divorce cost?

This depends on what the parties agree to, what court has jurisdiction, and if there are children or retirement accounts to resolve. You'll have to get more specifics from your attorney.

I want to file for divorce, what should I do?

You should get information from a reputable divorce attorney and then speak to your partner. We can prepare a complaint and waivers if the divorce is uncontested. If your partner wants to contest the divorce, we will need a process server to serve them with a complaint for divorce. From there the party you serve (or you, if you are served) has 30 days to file an answer. Additionally you may counterclaim or conduct discovery such as interrogatories or depositions. Our goal is to resolve your case efficiently, not go out of our way to bill you. Not all attorneys operate this way and can cause massive wastes of time and money.
